I think you only counted the downtown section of these cities. I am sorry to say, but after years of being a geography teacher, I can tell that this is misleading. The only one you got right was Tokyo being #1. Sao Paulo is actually #2 if you count the whole city and not just downtown. Mexico City is a close #3, followed by Jakarta at #4, and Calcutta at #5.

you really need to check your facts, i dont know if your including surrounding areas or entire states, but those number are way off, actually the number you got right was shanghai which is suposed to be number 1 with Karachi, Pakistan at number 2, theres no way mumbai has less people than Dehli

New York only has 8 millon people, no contray in the world has a population higher then 12 million. Shanghi is the mst populated contray with 12 million.
